Mattia Zaccagni has been quietly working on his recovery during the international break and is starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel with Lazio.

The 28-year-old Italian winger suffered a knee injury in the 63rd minute of the Champions League win over Feyenoord on 7th November, forcing him to miss the Derby della Capitale draw with Roma five days later.

Zaccagni did not join the Italy national team for their crucial Euro 2024 qualifiers against North Macedonia and Ukraine, remaining in Formello to continue working on his recovery.

As reported by Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Zaccagni’s recovery work at Formello has been progressing positively and he’s expected to return to squad training with his Lazio teammates later this week.

Maurizio Sarri may decide not to risk the winger in the first game back against Salernitana on 25th November, but he’ll almost certainly be fit to face Celtic in the Champions League three days later.
