Lazio have qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League, a success that has earned them millions.
Whilst the Biancocelesti have looked wildly inconsistent in Serie A this term, Maurizio Sarri’s side have been far more composed and motivated on the European stage, securing wins over Celtic and Feyenoord.
Lazio’s 2-0 win over Celtic and Atletico Madrid’s victory against Feyenoord on Tuesday confirmed the Roman club’s spot in the Round of 16. Taking a win over the Spaniards in their final group game would also guarantee a first-place finish in Group E.
As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Lazio will earn around €59 million for their work in the Champions League group stage this season.
This breaks down as follows: €15 million in fixed shares, €9.3 million for the results, €9.3 million for reaching the Round of 16, €15.9 million for the historic ranking and €5.1 million for the market pool.
Their final match with Atletico also has financial ramifications – €930,000 for a draw and €2.8 million for the win.
Absolutely deserved. Keep the concentration up and we can win the group.
Just keep giving your best!
Forza Lazio, well done lads 👏👏👏
Good to see some funds coming in… hope we invest in quality players and not quantity
