Lazio have received bad news after tests confirmed that winger Gustav Isaksen has suffered an injury to his quadriceps.
The 22-year-old Danish winger, who joined the Biancocelesti in the summer from FC Midtjylland in a deal worth around €12m, was forced off the pitch in the 27th minute of the Coppa Italia win over Genoa on Tuesday.
Isaksen has started life in the Italian capital slowly but looked positive in the recent 2-0 win over Celtic and 1-0 win over Cagliari, providing an assist in that Champions League victory.
As announced today, Isaksen underwent a round of tests at the Paideia clinic in Rome today, which confirmed that the Lazio winger had suffered a lesion to the rectus femoris of the left thigh, a quadriceps injury.
The Dane has already started his recovery programme and will undergo a new round of tests in the coming days. He could be sidelined until after the Christmas break, possibly missing the key Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid.
