Lazio may have failed to sign troubled forward Mason Greenwood in the summer but President Claudio Lotito hasn’t lost his interest in the Manchester United exile.

The 22-year-old Englishman joined Getafe in the summer after the Crown Prosecution Service’s decision not to press charges against him for alleged sexual assault and domestic violence, a controversial move that forced his exit from the Red Devils.

Greenwood has shown some positive signs in Spain this season, scoring four goals and providing three assists across 13 matches in La Liga and the Copa del Rey. He was on the verge of joining Lazio in the summer before the transfer window closed.

As reported by La Lazio Siamo Noi, Lazio President Lotito hasn’t lost his interest in Greenwood and is interested in picking up the Manchester United exile in January.

The 22-year-old’s contract expires with the Red Devils in June 2025 and the club want to confirm his sale in the summer, so may be open to a loan deal with a €15 million buy option attached, although they’ll have to fight off Getafe’s desire to make a permanent move.
