Lazio have learnt their fate at UEFA’s Champions League Round of 16 draw, coming up against Bayern Munich.

The Biancocelesti finished second in their group behind Atletico Madrid and ahead of Feyenoord and Celtic. It was a successful run for Maurizio Sarri and his squad, who have already achieved their objective in the competition.

Lazio now have the opportunity to switch focus to Serie A, desperately needing to start putting points on the board as they look to close the gap to the top four spots. The team currently sit seven points behind fourth place Bologna after 16 matches.

As confirmed at the UEFA draw in Nyon today, Lazio will face off against Bayern Munich in the Champions League Round of 16, playing out a rematch of the clash in the 2020-21 season.

The Biancocelesti will host the Bavarian giants at the Stadio Olimpico on 13th February before playing out the second leg at the Allianz Arena on March 5.

When the two teams met back in the 2020-21 season, Lazio lost to Bayern 6-2 on aggregate.
