Lazio Risk Losing Both Immobile & Luis Alberto for a Month

Lazio may have secured victory over Empoli, but their trip to Tuscany left stars Ciro Immobile and Luis Alberto with concerning injuries.

The Biancocelesti broke a three-game winless streak when they faced the Azzurri on 22nd December, taking home all three points after goals from Mateo Guendouzi and Mattia Zaccagni drove them to a 2-0 win.

Whilst Lazio impressed in the Champions League in the first half of the season, they’ve disappointed domestically and the pressure is now on to try and start closing the gap to the top four spots. Maurizio Sarri’s side sit seven points behind fourth place Bologna after 17 matches.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Immobile suffered a painful injury to his right thigh in the win over Empoli, an issue that’ll keep him sidelined for up to a month. He was forced off the pitch in the 22nd minute in Tuscany, clearly frustrated.

Exacerbating things for Lazio is the issue suffered by Luis Alberto, which could also keep him out of action for three to four weeks. He’ll undergo further tests this week, but will almost certainly miss the coming games against Frosinone and Udinese.
