Lazio & Milan Gear Up to Fight for Bournemouth’s Traore

Hamed Junior Traore is struggling for consistent minutes with Bournemouth and could return to Serie A as Lazio and Milan set their sights on the midfielder.

The 23-year-old Ivorian talent joined the Cherries from Sassuolo in January on a six-month loan deal with a €25.6 million permanence clause attached. Despite the investment, he has hardly featured in the Premier League this term, seeing just 44 minutes of action across three matches.

Traore proved himself to be an exciting midfielder during his time with Sassuolo, where he scored 18 goals and provided 11 assists across 111 total matches, and is still appreciated by many clubs in the Italian topflight.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Lazio are keen to pick up Traore in the coming January transfer window but first need to free up a non-EU player slot in the squad. The injury to Luis Alberto and Daichi Kamada’s commitment in the Asian Cup have pushed them to start looking for reinforcements.

Milan are also keen to pick up the 23-year-old, aware that they’ll lose Isamel Bennacer to the Africa Cup of Nations and Tommaso Pobega being out of action for months after a serious injury.

Napoli and Fiorentina are also interested in Traore, setting up tough competition for the player’s signature in the winter transfer window.
