Lazio Explore Move for Napoli Target Samardzic

Napoli are pushing to reach a deal for Lazar Samardzic but may face competition from Lazio, who recently explored a move for the Udinese starlet.

The 21-year-old Serbian midfielder has emerged as one of the most exciting up-and-comers in Serie A since his arrival in August 2021 and in the summer seemed to be just a step away from signing for Simone Inzaghi’s Inter, even completing his medicals in the Lombardy capital.

Samardzic ultimately failed to make the move to Inter and has continued impressing at Udinese this season, prompting Napoli to start seriously pushing for a transfer in the coming winter transfer window.

As reported by Alfredo Pedulla, Lazio directly contacted Udinese this week to start sounding out a possible move for Samardzic, wanting to bolster their midfield in the January transfer window. The Friulian side made it clear that the talented 21-year-old would cost at least €25 million.

Napoli are continuing to push for a deal and seem willing to match the Bianconeri’s requests, making it unlikely that the Serbian midfielder will head to the Italian capital next month.
