Lazio midfielder Toma Basic is open to leaving the Italian capital after receiving an offer from SC Freiburg.
The 27-year-old Croatian midfielder was told by Maurizio Sarri in the summer that he wouldn’t feature much this season, but he decided to stay in Rome to try and prove his qualities to the coach.
Things have not gone well for Basic, who has only seen nine minutes of action this term after coming off the bench in the Coppa Italia win over Genoa last month, being stuck on the fringes of the Lazio project.
As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Basic has received an offer from Bundesliga side SC Freiburg and has given his green light to the move, so the midfielder could leave Lazio on a loan deal with a buy option attached.
The departure of the 27-year-old would make space in Sarri’s squad for a new midfielder, so the club are now looking around for the right reinforcement in the Italian capital.
