Lazio have completed their first deal of the January transfer window, selling Emanuele Cicerelli to Serie B side Catania.
The 29-year-old Italian winger has been attached to the Biancocelesti since January 2020, joining from Salernitana in a deal worth around €2.5 million. Despite being with the club for the last four years, he’s never made a first team appearance in the Italian capital.
Cicerelli has bounced around various clubs on loan over the last four years, spending time with Foggia, Frosinone and Reggio Calabria.
As confirmed today, Lazio have sold Cicerelli to Catania for an unspecified fee, ending his four-year attachment to the Biancocelesti.
The 29-year-old has made 142 total appearances in Serie B throughout his career, scoring seven goals and providing nine assists in that time.
He joined Lazio during Claudio Lotito’s time in charge of Salernitana, suggesting that the deal may have been to help out the Campania side’s financial situation.
