Lazio have been fined and will have a part of their stadium closed after the fans’ behaviour in the Derby della Capitale win over Roma.

The Biancocelesti secured another Coppa Italia derby win over their intercity rivals on Wednesday evening, progressing to the semi-finals after a Mattia Zaccagni penalty proved the difference maker.

The clash, as expected, was incredibly tense and saw clashes between fans outside the stadium. On the pitch, Roma’s Edoardo Bove was struck on the head by a beer bottle thrown by Lazio fans. Smoke bombs and flares were also launched across the Stadio Olimpico.

As confirmed today (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Lazio have been handed a €50,000 fine and a warning after the Sporting Judge confirmed racist chanting aimed at Romelu Lukaku during the win over Roma. Four sectors of the Stadio Olimpico will also be closed for the coming clash with Napoli.

On the pitch, Pedro and Luca Pellegrini have both been handed a one-match ban in the Coppa Italia, with the former receiving a red card and the latter being given a yellow-card suspension.
