Lazio are ready to travel off to Saudi Arabia to play out the 2024 edition of the Supercoppa Italiana, which features a new format.
The format changes now see four teams compete for the Supercoppa Italiana, made up of the league and Coppa Italia winners and the two runners up. This year sees the Biancocelesti, Napoli, Fiorentina and Inter competing for the trophy.
Lazio’s first match in the Supercoppa Italiana will come against Inter on 19th January at 20:00 Italian time. The winner of this will then face the victor of Napoli-Fiorentina in a final on 22nd January at the same time.
Maurizio Sarri will have most of his squad available to him for the trip to Saudi Arabia, although there are doubts about Valentin Castellanos and Patric. Ciro Immobile and Luis Alberto are both expected to feature after returning to action in the win over Lecce on Sunday.
The Supercoppa Italiana also comes with prize money – €8 million for first place, €5 million for the runners up, and €1.6 million to the two losing semi-finalists.
