Lazio in Talks With Fluminense for Midfielder Alexsander

Lazio have opened talks with Fluminense as they look to agree a mid-season deal for talented midfielder Alexsander.

The 20-year-old Brazilian midfielder shot to prominence with Fluminense last year, making seven appearances in their historic Copa Liberatores run, which ended in victory over Boca Juniors.

Lazio are working on closing out the loan move of Toma Basic to Salernitana, pushing the club to start looking for a reinforcement for Maurizio Sarri’s squad. Daichi Kamada is also expected to depart on a free transfer in the summer.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Lazio are now negotiating with Fluminense for midfielder Alexsander, trying to lower the 20-year-old’s €15 million price tag. He is contracted to the Brazilian club until March 2026.

The Biancocelesti still haven’t brought in any replacements in the January transfer window but are expected to add one or two additions before the end of the month.

Lazio are in the thick of the race for a Champions League finish, sitting just a point behind fourth place Fiorentina.
