Lazio Reward Patric With Pay Rise in His Contract

Lazio centre back Patric has been rewarded with a pay rise by the club for his continued importance to coach Maurizio Sarri.

The 30-year-old Spaniard has been with the Biancocelesti since 2015 but failed to prove a convincing figure under Simone Inzaghi, mostly being used as a bench option in a three-man backline. He failed to convince the fans and seemed destined to fade into obscurity.

Patric has found a new lease of life in Rome following the arrival of Maurizio Sarri in the summer of 2021, becoming a first team regular and key figure in the four-man defence. This term, he’s seen 1529 minutes of action across 18 matches in all competitions.

As reported by Alfredo Pedulla, Lazio have decided to reward Patric by significantly bumping his pay, increasing the terms by around 50% compared to his current €1.2m net per season wages.

His current deal expires with the Biancocelesti in June 2027 and isn’t likely to be extended any further, considering he’d be 34 by then.
