Daichi Kamada’s long-term future at Lazio will be decided in the coming weeks as he is likely to finally get his chance to shine in the starting eleven. An injury to Luis Alberto, in addition to the Spaniard’s lack of form, has opened up the opportunity for the Japanese international to get some much-needed game time, and the former Eintracht Frankfurt player will be hoping he can finally show fans what he can do.

With Maurizio Sarri having questioned Kamada’s passion since he arrived on a free transfer in the Summer, Kamada will be well aware that his time may be running out at the Stadio Olimpico. Kamada has made known his disappointment with game time this season, so taking advantage of Luis Alberto’s lack of form is going to be the only way he can prove he has a future at the club.
After last season’s stunning second-place finish, the signing of Kamada was supposed to have helped bring Lazio to even greater heights and boost their online soccer betting odds. Can He Replace Luis Alberto’s Influence?
Stepping into Luis Alberto’s shoes at Lazio is not an easy task for any player, but that is what Kamada must do in the next few weeks. The Spaniard has been a huge player and a fan favourite for the Rome club since joining from Liverpool in 2016 being a key part of the way that Sarri wants to play at Lazio. His poor form though, along with Ciro Immobile’s, has been a huge blow – something that could fall in Kamada’s favour if he is able to perform.
Surprise Japanese Omission
Kamada’s lack of game time has not only dented the player’s confidence, but it has also now led to him being omitted from the Japan National team squad for the Asia Cup. The Lazio man had made 37 appearances for his country in the past, but boss, Hajime Moriyasu, surprisingly left him out of the squad for the tournament that kicked off on the 12th of January. However, this could prove to be a blessing in disguise for both Kamada and his club, as he could use this as motivation to find his best self again.
