Lazio have continued looking for reinforcements in the Championship, contacting Plymouth Argyle for winger Morgan Whittaker.

The Biancocelesti sent in an offer to Sunderland for Jack Clarke over the last few days which was rejected, leaving them in an awkward spot as the January transfer window starts to draw to a close. The club still haven’t signed any new players this month and fans have grown anxious.

Lazio are looking to pick up a new winger for the second half of the season, both due to their lack of goals in the first half of the campaign and because of the uncertain futures of Felipe Anderson and Pedro.

Corriere dello Sport (via TMW) details how Lazio opened talks with Plymouth Argyle on Monday to start sounding out a possible move for Whittaker, who has been on fire this season in the Championship.

The Biancocelesti proposed a deal worth around €10 million, which was rejected by the English club, who’ve set a higher fee of €18 million.

The 23-year-old Englishman has scored 15 goals and provided six assists in 28 league games, being a crucial figure in the squad.
