Kamada Slips Out of View in Sarri’s Lazio Squad

Daichi Kamada has fallen out of favour with coach Maurizio Sarri and seems destined to leave Lazio in the summer.

The 27-year-old Japanese midfielder joined the Biancocelesti on a free transfer in the summer after his move to Milan collapsed, penning a one-year contract with an option for a further three years. After a bright start, he began to receive less and less minutes in the Italian capital.

Kamada has not played a single minute in any of Lazio’s last four consecutive matches, last taking to the pitch in the 2-1 win over Udinese earlier this month, a game in which he was brought off at half time.

As reported by Il Messaggero (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Lazio president Claudio Lotito tried to push for Kamada to receive more minutes, but Sarri made it clear that he’s been left unimpressed by the Japanese midfielder’s work on the pitch.

With less than six months left on his contract in the Italian capital, he now seems destined to leave on a free transfer in the summer, with Olympique Marseille and Galatasaray both interested in the 27-year-old.

  1. After a bright start? What bright start? I run during my sunday league football more than he does, and my weight is almost double his.

  2. Why don’t they try him on the wing? He seems lost in the 4 3 3 formation as a mid. Sub him for Anderson.
