Lazio captain Ciro Immobile reached a historic goal milestone in Serie A during the team’s 3-1 win over Cagliari.
The 33-year-old Italian striker has struggled to generate consistent match fitness this term but has still managed to prove decisive on occasion, scoring nine goals in 1570 minutes of action across 27 matches.
Immobile, whilst less prolific than in recent years, is still a key figure in Maurizio Sarri’s squad and an important leader in the dressing room. His form will be crucial for Lazio as they look to fight for Champions League qualification in the coming months.
As highlighted by Lega Serie A, Immobile’s goal in the 49th minute of Lazio’s win over Cagliari was his 200th goal in Serie A, an incredible milestone for the striker. Only seven others have netted over 200 goals in the Italian topflight, including Roberto Baggio and Silvio Piola.
168 of these goals came with the Biancocelesti and he managed to net 200 across 341 games total in Serie A, also managing 50 assists in that time.
congratulations, Ciro!
