Former Lazio sporting director Igli Tare is reportedly ready to return to Serie A as Fiorentina set their sights on a move.
The Albanian, who spent the final three years of his playing career with the Biancocelesti, worked as the club’s sporting director from July 2008 to June 2023, pulling off a number of impressive deals including Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Luis Alberto and Ciro Immobile.
In the final few years of the Tare era at Lazio, his work began to be increasingly criticised, with many fans unhappy with puzzling transfers like Dimitrije Kamenovic, Denis Vavro and Vedat Muriqi, players who cost millions and failed to show anything of note.
As reported by various outlets including LazioNews24, Tare is looking increasingly likely to return to Serie A at the end of the season, with Fiorentina interested in appointing the Albanian director.
The Viola, under the guidance of coach Vincenzo Italiano, are trying to break into the next step in their project, hoping to become European regulars.
