The future of Adam Marusic at Lazio is shrouded in doubt, but Igor Tudor has already been in contact with the full back.

The 31-year-old Montenegrin full back has continued to feature in the Italian capital regularly this term, seeing over 3000 minutes of action across 38 appearances, proving a useful option due to his tactical flexibility and fitness.

Marusic has entered the last 18 months of his deal with Lazio and it’s still unclear if he’ll be offered a new deal or not. His last contract extension with the club came back in March 2022, something that was pushed for by previous coach Maurizio Sarri.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Tudor called Marusic in recent days to explain his plans at Lazio, wanting the 31-year-old to feature as a left back in a four-man defence. He’ll be closely evaluated over the next two months.

Should Tudor grow impressed with the Montenegrin’s work, a new contract could be set up, but much depends on what happens between now and the end of the season.
