Lazio vs Juventus: Form Guide
It’s hard to say where Lazio stand heading into their clash with Juventus. Tudor has now had around two weeks to start working with his new squad, which isn’t enough time to properly implement his tactics and strategy, suggesting a simpler plan against the Old Lady.
The Biancocelesti did win their other outing post Maurizio Sarri, beating Frosinone 3-2 with Giovanni Martusciello in the dugout. With nine league matches left to play, the club sit 11 points behind fourth-place Bologna, setting up a tough task for Tudor and his players.
Massimiliano Allegri’s Juventus have been in dire form in recent months, managing to pick up just one win in their last eight league matches, a run that’s seen them drop to third, just five points ahead of Thiago Motta’s Rossoblu.
The Bianconeri picked up just two points in their last three Serie A games, drawing Genoa and Atalanta and losing to Napoli.
Match Insights
- Lazio have clearly struggled for goals this season, managing just 1.2 per match on average, the 10th best in Serie A.
- Tudor will have kept an eye on his new defence, as the Biancocelesti haven’t kept a clean sheet in their last five games.
- Lazio and Juventus have only drawn one of their last seven meetings, a 2-2 clash in May 2022. Otherwise, the Old Lady have won five times and the Roman side just once.
- The Bianconeri have been more prolific in front of goal, averaging 1.5 goals per match in the league this term.
- Across the 20 Serie A campaigns since 2004/05, only Milan (28 against Cagliari) and Juventus (27 against Udinese) have recorded more wins against a single side than the tally obtained by Juventus against Lazio (26). I Biancocelesti have recorded just three wins against Juventus across their 37 league meetings in that period (D8).
- Lazio have lost their last three home matches in Serie A and only once before they have recorded more losses in a row at Stadio Olimpico in their top-flight A history: five in a row between February and April 1961 under Jesse Carver.
