Italian football journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims Lazio are keeping tabs on Strasbourg midfielder Ibrahima Sissoko.
With the end of the 2023/24 campaign edging closer, the clubs are beginning to shift their attention to the summer transfer market. This is particularly the case for the Biancocelesti who have recently appointed a new manager in the shape of Igor Tudor.
The Croatian, who replaced Maurizio Sarri last month, adopts a different football philosophy from his predecessor’s. Hence, the club could be set for an active Mercato to provide the new coach with players capable of interpreting his tactical ideas.
According to Di Marzio, Lazio are showing interest in Sissoko whose contract with Strasbourg will expire at the end of the season. The famous transfer guru posted the news on his website Gianlucadimarzio.com.
The Mali international is a 26-year-old defensive midfielder who started his professional career at Stade Brest. He moved to Strasbourg in 2018 and has been plying his trade at the club ever since. But with his contract expiring in June, this will apparently be his last campaign with the Ligue 1 side.
But while Lazio are reportedly seeking his services, they will have two competitors in Serie A. Di Marzio adds that Bologna and Fiorentina are also tracking the Malian midfielder.
This season, Sissoko has made 25 appearances between Ligue 1 and Coupe de France. He has yet to score a goal, but managed to produce three assists.
