Lazio Provide Updates on Injured Players as Guendouzi & Pellegrini Join the List

The official Lazio website has provided us with the latest updates on the conditions of the club’s injured players, with Matteo Guendouzi joining the list of absentees against Salernitana.

The Biancocelesti will host the Granata at the Olimpico Stadium on Friday night in the opening fixture of Serie A Matchday 32. Igor Tudor’s men will be looking to bounce back after suffering an agonizing mental blow last weekend when they succumbed to defeat at the hands of their arch-rivals Roma in the Derby della Capitale.

Despite coming short in the reverse fixture back in November, Lazio will be the heavy favorites to prevail against a side that already has one foot in Serie B. However, the team will have to do without several key players, beginning with club captain Ciro Immobile who sustained a blow to the internal collateral ligament of his left knee.

Moreover, Tudor will have to do without the services of Guendouzi in the middle of the park. The Frenchman is suffering from muscle fatigue in the left calf. Curiously, key defender Alessio Romagnoli is dealing with a similar condition, so he’ll be unavailable as well. To make matters even worse for the Aquile, Luca Pellegrini endured a new injury blow having sprained his left ankle.

The club’s official statement adds that these players are undergoing treatment and will be closely monitored over the next few days. Finally, goalkeeper Ivan Provedel and winger Mattia Zaccagni are continuing their rehabilitation process, as the source notes.
