Former Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri will reportedly try to raid his old club once he takes over a Premier League club this summer. The 65-year-old resigned from his post last month with Igor Tudor subsequently replacing him in the Italian capital.

Nevertheless, the Italian tactician isn’t planning to sit on the sidelines for too long. According to Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), he will embark on a new experience in England, with Newcastle United and West Ham emerging as his most likely destinations, where he would replace either Eddie Howe or David Moyes.

Moreover, the source expects the former Napoli, Chelsea and Juventus boss to launch an onslaught on Formello, as he’ll be eager to reunite with some of his most trusted ‘loyalists’. The report names two players in particular, Matteo Guendouzi and Alessio Romagnoli.

The French midfielder already had an early career experience in England, where he made a name for himself as a promising Arsenal youngster. The 25-year-old is currently on loan at Lazio who have the obligation to buy him from Marseille. However, a shaky relationship with Tudor could cut his time in Rome short.

As for Romagnoli, he remains greatly attached to the Biancocelesti cause. But while his attributes were perfectly suited to Sarri’s tactical plans, he might struggle to cope with Tudor’s ideas, especially the three-man backline. The Italian defender’s contract with Lazio is valid until 2027.
