Daichi Kamada spoke with Sports Hochi (translated by Japanese Lazio Fan Nobuto Tanji) for a revealing interview, discussing his current state at Lazio, addressing recent transfer speculation and Fabrizio Romano’s claims about his contract, and shedding light on his relationship with new manager, Igor Tudor.
The Biancocelesti defeated Genoa 1-0 win in Matchday 33; a game where Kamada was arguably the Man of the Match, providing the assist to Luis Alberto for the only goal in the fixture.
I am really happy to finally be able to help the team. I am very comfortable now with the familiar feeling I had in Germany. The whole team is getting better.
It was recently suggested by Transfer Market Expert Fabrizio Romano that Kamada held all the power in deciding his future, due to a specific clause in his contract. He stated that if the 27-year-old would pay €100 to Lazio by the end of May, his contract at the club would be automatically extended until June 2027; if not, he would be able to leave on a free transfer.
Fabrizio Romano posted about my contract, but that was wrong. Why should I pay €100 to renew my contract?
Despite his recent form and increase in playing time under Tudor, Kamada has been linked to various clubs in recent weeks, including Atalanta & Napoli.
Many different teams have been listed by the media as my destination, but I haven’t made any decisions.
And on Tudor, he only had positive things to say; especially after suffering under Maurizio Sarri’s tactics and playing style.
I feel Tudor’s trust in me now. He’s watching me and I think he’s the right coach for me in many ways.
