Lazio defender Mario Gila will be out of action for the next few weeks after sustaining an injury on Tuesday against Juventus.
The 23-year-old was a starter in the second leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final, lining up alongside Nicolo Casale and Alessio Romagnoli at the back. But after picking up a knock, he had to leave his place for Patric following the interval.
According to La Lazio Siamo Noi, Gila has suffered a muscular injury and could remain on the sidelines for the next 20 days. This is certainly a blow for Lazio coach Igor Tudor who has been heavily relying on his Spaniard since taking over at Formello last month. The Croatian tactician often adopts a three-man backline, but with the former Real Madrid man unavailable, he is left with limited options at the back.
But on a more positive note, the source expects Mattia Zaccagni to make his return to action on Saturday against Hellas Verona. The winger has been out of action since sustaining a knock in the first leg of the double-header against Juventus in the Coppa Italia.
Moreover, Felipe Anderson could overcome a toe injury to make himself available at Tudor’s disposal this weekend. The Brazilian posted a gruesome photo showing his sock soaking in blood due to a challenge from Juventus veteran Alex Sandro.
On the other hand, goalkeeper Ivan Provedel remains on the sidelines hoping to make his return in the following weekend against Monza. Moreover, the medical team will be closely monitoring the conditions of Daichi Kamada and Manuel Lazzari before deciding on their availability.
