Lazio captain Ciro Immobile was left disheartened by his brief appearance against Hellas Verona and is growing frustrated under new coach Igor Tudor.
It’s not been an easy season for the 34-year-old Italian striker, who has been limited to just six goals across 28 appearances this term as he struggles with injuries, poor form and a low amount of support from the fans, some of whom believe Valentin Castellanos should take over as the starter.
Immobile, who rejected an offer from Saudi Arabia last summer, has been increasingly linked with a move away from Lazio in the summer, with possible suitors including Inter and unnamed Saudi sides. Some rumours have even suggested a possible move to Napoli.
Page 22 of today’s Corriere dello Sport details how Immobile was left particularly disappointed by his brief substitute appearance in Lazio’s win over Hellas Verona, playing less than 10 minutes after coming off the bench.
The 34-year-old could have a sit-down discussion with Tudor in the coming weeks to clarify his future ahead of the summer, unhappy with his reduced role under the Croatian tactician.
