Christos Mandas has managed to impress with Lazio when given the chance, so what will the club do with the 22-year-old in the summer?
The Greek goalkeeper joined the Biancocelesti from OFI Crete on transfer deadline day last summer in a deal worth around €1.3m, adding a backup option to the squad following the departure of Luis Maximiano.
Mandas was hardly given a chance by Maurizio Sarri this season, only making one Coppa Italia appearance for Lazio. When Ivan Provedel suffered a painful ankle injury, he was thrust into action and hasn’t disappointed, keeping five clean sheets across his 12 appearances.
As reported by La Lazio Siamo Noi, Lazio are thinking about sending Mandas out on loan in the summer to allow him to continue his development, impressed by what they’ve seen from the Greek shot-stopper this term.
The 22-year-old could be sent out to be a first-choice option elsewhere, giving him regular playing time and the opportunity to continue his growth ahead of his 2025 return to the Biancocelesti.
