Why Tudor Remains Coy About Lazio Contract Extension

Lazio President Claudio Lotito is already looking to extend the contract of his newly-appointed Manager Igor Tudor. However, the latter remains reluctant.

The Croatian landed in the Italian capital last month as a replacement for Maurizio Sarri who vacated his post. Despite a disappointing Derby della Capitale and a Coppa Italia elimination at the hands of Juventus, the club’s results and displays have taken a turn for the better following the 46-year-old’s appointment.

So according to LazioNews24, Lotito is already at work to renew the coach’s contract which currently expires in 2025. The patron has been convinced by Tudor’s work since taking the reins, and would thus like to secure his services on a long-term contract. But while the former Udinese and Hellas Verona coach isn’t necessarily against the idea, he hasn’t been completely sold just yet.

As the source explains, Tudor prefers to wait until the Summer to get a better view of the club’s plans and ambitions. After all, the Biancocelesti will lose the services of Felipe Anderson who agreed to join Palmeiras on a free transfer, while Luis Alberto and Daichi Kamada could also follow suit.

Therefore, the manager is curious to see how the management plans to replace these individuals and just how strong his squad will be at the start of next season.

  1. Lotito mustn’t forget he isn’t dealing with an Italian. Tudor has probably got some things he must feel the need(as pointed above) to know what ambitions we have. He has also got a CV good enough to find a club similar to our level (of competition level, not history).

Hopefully Kamada stays and Luis will adequately be replaced. If Rovella could improve his fitness or whatever to keep him injury free, Tudor will stay. But indeed, other positions also must be covered and if Pedro likely ends up leaging he needs to be replaced.

Our youth could give us something too, who knows what will happen at Auronzo.

Let’s keep keep focusing on the end of the season and we will see al this after
    Forza Lazio
