Lazio are reportedly working on a plan to secure the signature of Monza breakout star Andrea Colpani come the Summer.
The 24-year-old started the campaign on a brilliant note and was almost scoring goals on a weekly basis. Although his stats dropped as the campaign progressed, he remains one of the most sought-after attacking midfielders in Serie A; the Monza star is a left-footed player who usually plays on the right side, either as a winger or an advanced midfielder.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Lazio have identified Colpani as the right profile to join Igor Tudor’s revolution. The Biancocelesti will lose the services of Felipe Anderson who has a pre-contract agreement with Palmeiras, while the fates of Luis Alberto and Pedro remain up in the air. Therefore, the capital side is seeking reinforcement in the attacking midfield department.
The pink newspaper reveals how Lazio President Claudio Lotito is looking to pounce on his amicable rapport with Monza CEO Adriano Galliani to close the operation. The latter is reportedly requesting a figure between €15 and €20 million to part ways with the Atalanta youth product.
Lotito is also looking to add Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro to the equation as a bargaining chip to lower the cost. The 31-year-old midfielder is spending the current campaign on loan with the Biancorossi, and his playing time under Raffaele Palladino has increased as of late.
As for Colpani, he has contributed with eight goals and four assists in 34 appearances this season. His contract with the Brianza club is valid until June 2028.
