Five Lazio players will miss the big clash against Inter Milan in the penultimate round of the season if they receive a booking against Empoli this weekend.

During last Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Monza, the Biancocelesti looked tense, as seven players received yellow cards. Four of them are now one booking away from a one-match ban, explains La Lazio Siamo Noi. The men in question are defenders Alessio Romagnoli, Nicolo Casale, Patric and veteran midfielder Matias Vecino.

These four players thus join Pedro Rodriguez on the list of players who risk a suspension. Igor Tudor’s men will host Empoli on Sunday’s early kickoff, and if any of them gets himself booked against the Emilians, he would have to sit out the showdown against Inter at San Siro the following weekend.

Lazio were still hoping to climb their way to the top five spots in the Serie A standings to earn a spot in next season’s Champions League. However, the draw against Monza may have served as a final blow.

Nevertheless, the Aquile will be looking to record positive results in their three remaining fixtures to book a place in the Europa League at the very least. They currently sit 7th in the table with 56 points after 35 rounds.
