The Agent of Lazio goalkeeper Christos Mandas reveals his client has admirers outside of Italy, but is looking to define his future following talks with the Biancocelesti management.

The Greek custodian joined the Italian capital club last summer. He played second fiddle for the more experienced Ivan Provedel but proved himself to be a reliable option following the latter’s injury in March. Therefore, the Italian’s return from injury sparked a selection headache for Igor Tudor who continues to trust Mandas between the posts.

In an interview with TMW (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), the 22-year-old’s agent Diego Tavano heaped praise on his client while discussing his future.

Mandas is a strong player who had several suitors in Italy. Lazio were the fastest to act and he believed it was the right choice. Initially, the club considered sending him back to OFI Crete on loan, but then Sarri decided to keep him.

He is a great player who has now established himself and I’m happy because it was not easy to fit in – he has been great this season. There is also growing interest from abroad but we will talk about it with Lazio. I think it’s natural to sit at the table with the management. I don’t think Lotito would give him up after just one year.

The agent also explained Mandas’ best attributes while thanking Lazio and Tudor for placing their trust in him.

Christos has great reflexes and above all, he’s a fantastic lad who wants to improve. He knows he needs to make football his obsession to become one of the best goalkeepers around. This can make the difference, he is super explosive in goal, even Sarri said as much.

Mandas is also good with the ball at his feet. We thank Lazio for having faith in him and Tudor who continues to play him. We will talk with the club soon to understand his future.

Mandas has conceded six goals and registered four clean sheets in eight Serie A appearances thus far this season.
