Italian football Agent Alessandro Moggi revealed that his client Ciro Immobile turned down several offers in the past in favor of staying at Lazio.
The 34-year-old has been a staple at the club since 2016. During his time at the Stadio Olimpico, he won three Capocannoniere awards and became the club’s all-time top goal-scorer. However, the veteran striker has been less prolific this term, only bagging seven Serie A goals thus far, including four from the spot.
The Italian’s form has prompted talks of a potential exit at the end of the season. Nonetheless, his agent suggests the player is looking to honour his contract which runs until June 2026. While chatting with journalists during the Adiscop Grand Gala ceremony (via Gianluca Di Marzio), Moggi also revealed that Immobile rejected many offers in the past, opting to remain loyal to the Biancocelesti cause.
Ciro is the Lazio captain, and represents the history of the club. He has a contract that binds him to the Biancoceleste for two more seasons. He has received many offers in recent years but had always rejected them. President Lotito has always accepted his decision to stay and make history with Lazio with great honor.
The Italy international ended a long goal drought by scoring in Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Monza. Therefore, he’ll be looking to get the nod once again at Taty Castellanos’ expense when Lazio host Empoli on Sunday’s early Serie A kickoff.
