Como manager Cesc Fabregas is reportedly hoping to reunite with Lazio winger Pedro Rodriguez next season.

The two Spaniards played side-by-side at Barcelona between 2011 and 2014. The retired midfielder then joined Chelsea in the summer of 2014, and the winger followed suit a year later, thus rekindling their partnership in West London. They were also international teammates with La Roja.

Nowadays, Pedro remains active on the pitch, serving the Lazio cause since 2021. For his part, Fabregas ended his playing career last summer at Como before taking over the club’s Primavera squad. The former Arsenal captain was then promoted to the first team in November and managed to lead the club back to Serie A for the first time in 21 years.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Fabregas is keen to bolster his squad with prominent names, and chief among them is his old partner-in-crime Pedro. The latter’s contract with Lazio will expire at the end of the season, and a renewal appears unlikely at this point.

So it remains to be seen if the 35-year-old would fancy an experience with a newly promoted Serie A club. The Spaniard has contributed with three goals and a single assist in his 44 appearances across all competitions this season, with the majority coming off the bench.
