Lazio Number One Hopeful of Making Euro 2024 After Injury Return

Ivan Provedel is ready to make his first Lazio start for over two months as he pushes to join the Italy squad for Euro 2024.

The 30-year-old shot stopper, who has shined with the Biancocelesti since his arrival from Spezia back in the summer of 2022, has been forced to miss the last eight consecutive league matches after suffering a painful ankle injury in the closing stages of a loss to Udinese in March.

Igor Tudor already confirmed that Provedel would start for Lazio in their tough Serie A clash against Inter, finally giving him the chance to get back out on the pitch in the final two matches of the season.

As highlighted by Corriere dello Sport (via TMW), Provedel is hoping to quickly prove himself once again for Lazio in the final two games, giving Italy coach Luciano Spalletti something to think about ahead of the fast-approaching European Championship.

The Azzurri are likely to choose both Gianluigi Donnarumma and Guglielmo Vicario for their squad, leaving just one goalkeeping slot available, which Provedel is hoping to earn. He is competing with Matteo Carnesecchi and Alex Meret for the Euro 2024 spot.
