Lazio Captain Motivated for New Season & Sets Objectives

Lazio captain Ciro Immobile wants to put last season behind him and start again with the right attitude under new coach Marco Baroni.

The 34-year-old Italian striker failed to impress in the 2023-24 campaign, limited to just 11 goals and one assist across 43 matches, looking a shadow of the player whose won four Capocannoniere titles in the past.

Many Lazio fans began to lose patience with Immobile across the season, calling for greater usage of Valentin Castellanos, and various rumours began to circulate regarding his future at the club in the build-up to the summer transfer window.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Immobile wants to start the new season at Lazio with the right attitude, ready to prove himself once again to new coach Baroni.

In the club’s goalscoring rankings, he’s one behind Giorgio Chinaglia in international competitions and six behind Bruno Giordano in the national cups. He also wants to enter the top five appearance makers list, being 31 behind Senad Lulic.
