Lazio Refusing to Give Up in Chase of Udinese Starlet

Lazio President Claudio Lotito is planning to launch a new offer for Udinese starlet Lazar Samardzic in the coming days.

The Biancocelesti are desperate to bolster their midfield this summer following the recent departure of Luis Alberto and last year’s sale of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, leaving a lack of quality in the centre of the pitch.

Lazio have started seriously targeting Samardzic and in recent days sent in an offer of €15 million plus Matteo Cancellieri for the Serbian midfielder, which was rejected by Udinese. Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce are also interested in a move for the 22-year-old.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Lazio president Lotito is planning to send Udinese a new offer for Samardzic, needing to get closer to their €22.5 million request; the Friulian side aren’t willing to accept any players in exchange.

Whilst Mourinho is keen to bring Samardzic to Fenerbahce, the 22-year-old would prefer to stay in Italy, giving the Biancocelesti an opening.
