Lazio Pushing to Find Agreement With Manchester United for Greenwood

Lazio are determined to find an accord with Manchester United that would see Mason Greenwood make the move to the Italian capital.

The 22-year-old is in favour of joining the Biancocelesti as he feels well-appreciated by the club and would have a significant role to play. However, the main hurdle standing in his way is an agreement between the two clubs. Greenwood also has other proposals on the table, so Lazio must be swift in their attempts.

According to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà, Lazio will do everything within their power to reach the finish line. Therefore, President Claudio Lotito could be willing to raise his offer to €25 million in addition to a comprehensive sell-on fee on a future sale varying between 40% and 50%.

Lazio Closing in on Agreement with Manchester United for Greenwood

The source believes these figures could be enough to seal the deal, as the Red Devils have recently lowered their asking price for their outcast winger whose contract will expire next summer.

Greenwood was among the most exciting young talent to emerge from Man United’s youth ranks over the last few years. However, serious allegations made by his girlfriend prompted a lengthy legal row that interrupted his progress for 18 months.

Nevertheless, the Englishman managed to revive his career with an impressive loan spell at Getafe last season.

  1. Ok, this is positive news for 3 reasons:
1-Lotito seems less stingy if he is ready to offer 25mil +the resale clause
    2-United decreasing their asking price
3-Greenwood himself starting to prioritise us

They are all very important and I start to feel we can actually get him and our transfer market starts to look truly amazing, with Baroni having a really good chance to improve on our finish from last season and push for that Champions League spot. If this is how things go, I’m sad Sarri didn’t get the same back up but I’m happy Baroni is getting it and we shouldn’t set a limit to what’s achievable.

In the same time let’s not get carried away coz some injuries alone could make my “rosy” outlook on the near future and transform it into a nightmare but we seem to take the right steps. The average age of the team is also significantly decreasing and that’s brilliant because modern football needs these young legs, intensity is key.

Ps: thank you for the article Laziali!

    FORZA LAZIO DAJEEEEEE
