Lazio striker Ciro Immobile is reportedly on the cusp of finalizing a shocking move to Besiktas. While the Biancocelesti captain was tipped to stay at Formello for a ninth season, this breaking news seemingly came out of the blue.

La Lazio Siamo Noi, among many others, is reporting that the Turkish Super Lig side already has an agreement with the 34-year-old over personal terms; Immobile would sign a lucrative deal that would allow him to pocket €7.5 million per season – more than what he currently earns in Rome.

The Latest on Immobile’s Possible Transfer to Turkey

Nevertheless, the source notes that the Turkish giants still have to find an accord with Lazio President Claudio Lotito. After all, Immobile still has a contract valid until 2026, so while Besiktas were initially hoping to sign the player for around €10 million, they will have to increase their offer to secure his services as Lotito is looking to collect a figure between €15-18 million.

However, Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà states that Lazio will have a phone call with Besiktas on the evening of July 8, 2024, to discuss the next steps; if Immobile is to accept the move, then Lotito’s original requests will likely be reduced to be able to part ways amicably.

So it remains to be seen if Immobile will leave Lazio after eight unforgettable years at the Stadio Olimpico. If he is to depart, it will be as the club’s all-time leading goalscorer with 207 strikes from 340 matches.

  1. Unbelievable what is happening. Two years ago we had 6-7 Italians in the starting eleven. Provedel – Casale – Romagnoli – Lazzari – Cataldi – Zaccagni – Immobile. And we have finished 2nd. Now send them all out and bring bunch of average Africans… Seria A is already full of foreigners. We need more Italian players!!

    1. Well I can’t argue with what you said..

I don’t understand what is happening anymore
