Lazio are seriously interested in making a move for Nuno Tavares and have started to draw up a plan for the unneeded Arsenal left-back.

The Biancocelesti have been on the hunt for a new full-back for a number of weeks now, wanting a reliable option to replace Elseid Hysaj and Luca Pellegrini on the left side of Marco Baroni’s defence.

Hellas Verona’s Juan Cabal was considered a strong option, but the emergence of Stade Rennais has pushed Lazio away. In recent days, reports emerged detailing how the club had been in contact with Tavares’ entourage and Arsenal to explore a possible move in the coming weeks.

Alfredo Pedulla details how Lazio are interested in making a move for Tavares this summer but are not willing to match Arsenal’s €10 million price tag, believing his value to be lower considering that he has just a year left on his contract in North London.

The Biancocelesti are seriously considering progressing for the 24-year-old but only for a lower fee, leaving things uncertain for the time being.

  1. £10 million is nothing for a young experienced premier league defender. Lazio are penny pinching.
