Lazio are continuing to slowly work on a deal for controversial Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood, who has already received multiple other offers.

The Red Devils are ready to close the chapter on the 22-year-old Englishman, who was sent off to Getafe last summer after being charged with attempted rape, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and controlling and coercive behaviour in October 2022. Charges were later dropped but a return to the Premier League is not on the table for the winger.

Lazio President Claudio Lotito believes Greenwood would be a strong addition to Marco Baroni’s squad and has been working on a deal for a number of weeks now, trying to beat out competition from around Europe for the controversial 22-year-old.

Alfredo Pedulla highlights how Lazio’s Italian intermediary handling the talks has been in contact with Manchester United again over the last few days to continue the slow progress in negotiations. The Red Devils want around €30 million for the English winger, who has already opened up to the idea of joining the Biancocelesti after receiving three or four other offers. The usage of a future resale clause could prove key in reaching an agreement.

  1. Greenwood is too much for the cheap Lotito to afford. There is no such money in his wallet at all.
