Lazio captain Ciro Immobile is ready to sign for Besiktas as directors from the club arrived in Rome to complete the transfer.

The 34-year-old Italian striker struggled to impress in the 2023-24 season, looking frustrated and less effective in the final third, managing just 11 goals and one assist across 43 appearances under Maurizio Sarri and Igor Tudor.

After eight years, Immobile now believes his cycle with Lazio has come to an end and is ready for a new adventure in Turkey with Besiktas, who have prepared a two-year contract worth around €6 million net per season plus add-ons.

As noted by Gianluca Di Marzio, Besiktas directors have arrived in Rome today to complete the deal for Immobile, who is ready to put pen to paper on his new contract and leave Lazio, who’ll earn €3 million from the sale.

The 34-year-old was keen to push through the transfer to the Turkish club and even waived his June salary in order to help an agreement arrive.

During his eight years with Lazio, Immobile scored 207 goals and provided 54 assists in 340 matches across all competitions, helping the club win a Coppa Italia and two Supercoppa Italiana titles.

  1. I don’t know why he suddenly pushes for a leave. He was saying that he would love to end his career in Lazio and I do hope he can be a legend who hang his boots in Lazio. Sad to see his departure.
