Christos Mandas is ready to sign a new long-term contract with Lazio, despite attracting attention from around Europe.

The 22-year-old Greek goalkeeper joined the Biancocelesti from OFI Crete last year in a deal worth just €1.3 million, signed as the second-choice goalkeeper. He was thrust into action when Ivan Provedel suffered an ankle injury and he quickly impressed, making 12 appearances.

Last month, a number of top clubs around Europe including Manchester City and Manchester United set their sights on Mandas, contacting Lazio to obtain information about the goalkeeper. One idea included sending the goalkeeper to the Red Devils for Mason Greenwood.

Calciomercato.com reports that Mandas is now ready to sign a new five-year contract with Lazio, worth around €1 million net per season plus add-ons, tying him to the club until June 2029.

The Biancocelesti have quietly been in contact with his entourage for a number of weeks now, believing in his potential as a long-term replacement for Ivan Provedel.
