Lazio are ready to finalize the details for Arsenal left-back Nuno Tavares after reaching a total agreement with the Premier League side and the Portuguese defender.
The Biancocelesti have been on the hunt for a new left-back for a number of weeks now, wanting to find a reliable replacement for Elseid Hysaj and Luca Pellegrini, both of whom seem surplus to requirements in Marco Baroni’s new squad.
Lazio set their sights on Nuno Tavares and opened talks with Arsenal, agreeing to sign the 24-year-old Portuguese full-back on a loan deal with a €6 million obligation to buy clause attached, with a 20% future resale clause also included.
As highlighted by La Lazio Siamo Noi, Nuno Tavares will arrive in Rome in the coming days to carry out his medicals with Lazio before completing his transfer from Arsenal. He’ll then join his new teammates at the pre-season training camp in Auronzo di Cadore.
Only the final details remain now, including the exchange of documents and the signing of the contract.
Tavares and Pellegrini to left looks fine to me.
