Lazio could resort to Jobe Bellingham after seemingly missing out on Manchester United outcast Mason Greenwood.
The Italian capital side has been tracking the England international for quite some time now, putting €25 million on the table in addition to a 50% sell-on fee. However, this wasn’t enough to sway the Red Devils, especially with Olympique Marseille making a larger bid.
Thus, The French club are reportedly leading the race, even though Greenwood has yet to give a definitive answer.
Lazio Turn Attention from Greenwood to Jobe Bellingham
As a result, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Lazio are not planning to waste any more time in the pursuit of the 22-year-old and will instead shift their focus to Jobe Bellingham – the brother of Real Madrid and England superstar Jude Bellingham.
Just like his older sibling, the 18-year-old rose through the ranks of Birmingham City but moved to Sunderland last summer. The youngster enjoyed an impressive campaign in the English Championship, scoring seven goals in 45 appearances.
The source reveals that Sunderland have named their price at €13 million; the Englishman has been recently linked with the likes of Tottenham, Crystal Palace and Real Madrid, but there haven’t been serious negotiations with any of those clubs thus far.
Bellingham primarily plays as an attacking midfielder, so his arrival could spark a duel with new Lazio signing Fisayo Dele-Bashiru. Nevertheless, Jobe can also feature as a striker or central midfielder.
If we are to have any success next season we should keep the likes of Hume beiilngham Ballard cirkin alese Clarke Roberts and Dan Neil and of course Luke onien plus a few new signings
