Spartak Trnava star Adrian Zeljkovic is the latest midfielder to be linked with a summer transfer to Lazio.
According to La Lazio Siamo Noi, Mason Greenwood is now a closed chapter for the Biancocelesti, so the management is looking to invest their money elsewhere, potentially on several profiles, and this could include the young Slovenian.
Lazio Evaluating Zeljkovic
The 21-year-old is a defensive midfielder who combines physical strength and good technical skills. The youngster was a member of the Slovenian national team that participated in Euro 2024, but he didn’t make any appearances. His only international cap thus far came in a friendly against the USA earlier this year.
As the source tells it, Zeljkovic has been proposed to Lazio Sporting Director Angelo Fabiani who is now evaluating the player. The Slovenian would cost the capital side a transfer fee worth €2-3 million. The midfielder joined Spartak Trnava last summer and his contract with the club is valid until June 2027.
The report believes that Lazio already have enough depth in the middle of the park, especially with their new coach Marco Baroni likely to implement a 4-2-3-1 system. Nevertheless, the club could decide to jump on the opportunity to add a promising young player who can be developed over the years.
