This is due to the words of the Mayor of Marseille, Benoit Payan. He stated that the previous actions of the English forward are “unspeakable” and “unacceptable”, and that he would personally ask President Pablo Longoria “not to buy Greenwood” as he would not want “his club to be associated with the shame of him beating his wife”.
As a result, Lazio are once again in contact with Manchester United trying to take advantage of the situation, as confirmed by Sporting Director Angelo Mariano Fabiani.
