Lazio Make Opening Bid for Sassuolo Winger

Lazio have reportedly presented Sassuolo with a concrete offer for their winger Armand Lauriente but fell off the mark.

As Il Corriere dello Sport explains, the Biancocelesti have identified the Frenchman as the right profile to complete the attacking department after missing out on Mason Greenwood who instead joined Olympique Marseille. Marco Baroni appreciates the 25-year-old’s speed and technical skills. He considers him suitable for his 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 tactical systems.

Nevertheless, Sassuolo have been determined to maintain one of their most influential players despite suffering relegation to Serie B. Yet, every player has a price, and for Lauriente, the Emilians are seeking €15 million in addition to bonuses.

Lazio Pushing to Sign Lauriente

On the other hand, Lazio’s opening bid was only €10 million. Therefore, the Biancocelesti would have to raise their price if they wish to seal the deal.

Moreover, Italian football journalist Gianluca Di Marzio confirms ongoing contact between Lazio and the player’s entourage. The management is looking to find an agreement with Lauriente over personal terms and then focus on negotiations with Sassuolo.

Alfredo Pedulla is also reporting a similar story. The journalist believes that the negotiations aren’t yet in an advanced stage, but he confirms the Sassuolo man as being a concrete target for Lazio. However, Pedulla warns the Italian capital side of competition from Parma and José Mourinho’s Fenerbahce.

  1. Lazio cant sign anybody because we always bid lower than the asking price lotito is a criminal. As long as lotito stays with lazio we will never make it beyond R16 of champions league. We went from having guys like crespo veron nesta nedved klose immobile sms and alberto to guys who arent globally recognized. A sad downfall due to greed of one man.

    1. U just spoke to whole truth…
And the mind of every lazio supporter out there…lotito has done what he can do..Time for him to go..lazio is bigger than him
