Lazio are once again considering an onslaught for Panathinaikos goal-machine Fotis Ioannidis in case they end up selling Taty Castellanos.
The Biancocelseti were linked with the Greek striker a few months ago, but that track faded recently. However, Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24) claims that the Italian capital side has revived its interest in the 24-year-old striker.
Lazio Reignite Interest in Ioannidis
Lazio have already parted ways with their all-time top goalscorer Ciro Immobile who joined Besiktas earlier this summer. New manager Marco Baroni is expected to hand the reins to Castellanos. Yet, the 25-year-old continues to be linked with a return to Girona. So in case Lazio decide to cash in on their Argentine striker, they could pursue Ioannidis as a direct replacement.
But as the source explains, Panathinaikos’ asking price remains the main hurdle. The Greek giants are requesting a transfer fee of €30 million to part ways with the bomber who’s coming off a prolific campaign. The source adds that Bologna also inquired about the Greece international, but were repelled by the hefty price tag.
Lazio were also tipped to go after Napoli’s wantaway striker Giovanni Simeone, but this pursuit has yet to gain momentum. Meanwhile, the Biancocelesti’s interest in Salernitana’s Boulaye Dia dwindled over the past few weeks.
Ioannidis just not convincing and too heavy price tag. Forget him.
Let’s stick with taty and add giovanni for back up
