Lazio Could Turn to Inter Milan Outcast as Negotiations With Sassuolo Stall

Lazio are reportedly considering bringing back Joaquin Correa after failing to make a breakthrough in their attempts to sign Armand Lauriente.

The Biancocelesti have already revamped their attacking department, bringing in Tijjani Noslin and Loum Tchaouna as replacements for Ciro Immobile and Felipe Anderson. Nevertheless, the club’s Sporting Director Angelo Fabiani is still seeking one more addition up front.

Lazio Could Resort to Correa If They Give Up on Lauriente

Over the past few weeks, Lauriente has emerged as the club’s primary transfer target. But as Corriere dello Sport explains, Lazio have yet to make significant progress in their talks with Sassuolo who insist on their asking price of €15 million. On the other hand, Biancocelesti President Claudio Lotito has only allocated a budget of €10 million for the winger.

Lazio have already an agreement in principle with the 25-year-old Frenchman who would earn €1.5 million per year. However, their failure to reach an accord with the Emilians could force them to look elsewhere. And according to the Roman newspaper, Lazio could decide to pursue their former striker Joaquin Correa.

Unsuccessful Career Since Leaving Lazio

The Argentine spent three largely successful seasons at Formello between 2018 and 2021 before following Simone Inzaghi to Inter. But sadly for the 29-year-old, his career has been on a spiral of decline ever since.

The source believes that Correa will be hoping to free himself from his contract with the Nerazzurri which will expire next year. Then, Lotito would be able to sign his old pupil on a free transfer.

  1. Can’t lotito just sell the club..
He has done what he can do and we Thank him for it..

But it’s time for him to go

    1. This is so true. Respectfully Lotito, you did your best, you stabled the ship and got us some trophies, however, it’s time.

  2. we always miss out some important players just for a marginal difference of the transfer amount. Lotito can bring small clubs to medium size, but that’s all. We can never evolve to the next level with Lotito’s cheap stingy character.
